Most commonly known as the Prickly Pear, this cactus is known for it's round paddles and the fruit it bears. It flowers in the spring/summer.
Once dry season sets in, the paddle will be done growing-- and all new growth happens in segments when a new paddle branches off the old one.
They are native to the Americas, growing from Southern Canada all the way to the southern tip of South America.
Fits perfectly in the RIBBA frame from Ikea.
